Loading and shipment planning
Loading arrangements depend on the material, the yard, the port and the trade term. Container weight limits, stuffing method, lashing, tare weights and photographic evidence at the point of loading all matter, particularly for dense ferrous grades and baled non-ferrous material.
- Yard location and nearest suitable loading port
- Loading capability: loose stuffing, bales, bundles, drums or pallets
- Container type, tare weights and payload limits
- Loading photographs and container seal records
- Weighbridge tickets and weight reconciliation
- Trade term and the responsibilities it allocates
Documents commonly required
- Commercial invoice and packing list
- Bill of lading
- Certificate of origin where required
- Weight certificates or weighbridge records
- Inspection certificate where inspection is agreed
- Analysis or composition reports where applicable
- Radiation or contamination declarations where required by destination
- Export and import permissions relevant to the material and route
