Materials we review

AceComex reviews material offers and buying requirements across the main internationally traded scrap categories. Each category has its own grading conventions, contamination tolerances, packing expectations and documentation requirements, and each is assessed on commercial merit.

Availability is never assumed. Material is confirmed only where a supplier can evidence it, and requirements are progressed only where a destination can receive it lawfully and practically.

Copper Scrap

Bright wire, berry and candy grades, millberry, birch/cliff, heavy copper and mixed copper materials reviewed against agreed specifications.

Aluminium Scrap

Extrusion, UBC, taint tabor, tense, wheels, radiators and mixed aluminium offered subject to grade, contamination and packing review.

Ferrous Scrap

HMS 1&2, shredded, plate and structural, busheling and cast iron traded in bulk and containerised shipments.

Stainless Steel Scrap

304, 316 and mixed stainless grades where composition, magnetic content and attachments require careful verification.

Brass Scrap

Honey brass, brass turnings, radiators, taps and mixed yellow brass assessed on alloy consistency and attachments.

Lead Battery Scrap

Drained lead-acid battery scrap considered only where environmental, licensing, packaging and destination-approval requirements are satisfied.

How material is described

  • Named grade and, where relevant, the recognised international grading reference
  • Contamination tolerance expressed as a percentage rather than as a general description
  • Attachments, coatings, insulation and foreign material treatment
  • Packing format: loose, baled, bundled, drummed or in bulk bags
  • Moisture, oil and residue expectations for turnings and borings
  • Origin, accumulation period and realistic monthly availability

Before a category is progressed

  • Export eligibility at origin and import eligibility at destination
  • Inspection method agreed in advance of loading
  • Payment and documentary structure confirmed in writing
  • Container or bulk suitability for the grade in question
  • Any environmental or licensing controls applicable to the material
  • Realistic timelines for accumulation, loading and despatch
